Awards

Trica Keaton has received multiple forms of support in recognition of her research, teaching, and public scholarship in Black French and European studies. Her honors include the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Residency Fellowship from the French Institutes for Advanced Study (FIAS), held at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS–Iméra), Aix-Marseille University; competitive internal research support at Dartmouth College, including the Scholarly Innovation and Advancement Award; and fellowships and institutional support from the Mellon Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center at Villa Serbelloni in Italy, the Ford Foundation, and Columbia University’s Institute for Scholars at Reid Hall in Paris. She was also awarded the Chateaubriand Fellowship, which holds particular significance as the first major competitive fellowship she received as a doctoral student to conduct research in France. These awards have supported the development of Keaton’s research agenda and pedagogical initiatives, including international and experiential learning programs connected to her work on Black France and the African diaspora.
